In a significant achievement against narcotics trafficking, Counter Intelligence Amritsar busted a cross-border smuggling module with links to Pakistan. Two operatives, Akashdeep Singh alias Tony and Pawanbir Singh, have been arrested, and 4 kg of heroin has been recovered from their possession.

According to preliminary investigation, the arrested individuals were acting on the instructions of Pakistan-based smuggler Rana King, who orchestrated consignments from across the border. The drugs were then redistributed to Indian associates for circulation.

An FIR has been registered at PS SSOC, Amritsar, and further investigations are underway to unravel the full network, including its backward and forward linkages.
