In a major breakthrough, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), Punjab, in collaboration with the Hoshiarpur Police, has successfully apprehended Krishan Gopal, a resident of Village Baincha, Hoshiarpur, along with his son Keshav, after a brief exchange of fire.
The Incident
The accused were involved in a targeted shooting at Ganpati Jewellers, Hoshiarpur, on October 18, 2025, where two motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire on the shop premises. Soon after the attack, the shop owner reportedly received a threatening call from an unknown foreign number, demanding an extortion amount of ₹20 lakh.
Weapons Recovered
During the operation, the police recovered one .32 caliber pistol along with live cartridges, marking another success for Punjab’s ongoing crackdown against organized crime.
