Punjab Police: In a major breakthrough against cross-border crime, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police, in an intelligence-led operation, has dismantled an organised arms and hawala network. The police arrested three operatives and recovered 10 sophisticated weapons, including three PX5 .30 Bore pistols, three Glock 9MM pistols, one Beretta 9MM pistol, three .30 Bore pistols, along with ₹2.5 lakh in hawala money.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the arrested individuals were in direct contact with handlers based in Pakistan through social media channels. The accused were allegedly part of a conspiracy to procure and circulate illegal weapons with the intent of disturbing peace and harmony in Punjab. An FIR has been registered at PS Gate Hakima, Amritsar, and further investigations are underway to expose the entire network and its cross-border linkages.
