The Chief Minister said the Panchayat Ghars will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, serving as hubs for discussions, planning, and decision-making aimed at the holistic development of villages. “These modern Panchayat Ghars will be the nerve centres for local governance, where important matters related to rural progress will be deliberated and resolved,” Mann stated.
Common Service Centres will provide villagers with easy access
Alongside, the Common Service Centres will provide villagers with easy access to various online government services, eliminating the need for residents to travel to distant offices. These services will cover multiple areas, including applying for official documents, paying bills, and accessing welfare schemes.
Mann emphasised that the initiative is part of the state government’s broader commitment to empower rural communities, enhance digital connectivity, and bridge the urban–rural divide. “We are dedicated to making our villages model centres of development and ensuring that every resident gets the facilities they deserve,” he added.
The Chief Minister highlighted that strengthening local governance structures is key to achieving balanced growth. By bringing both administrative and digital services closer to the people, the government aims to promote transparency, efficiency, and citizen participation in governance.
Officials said the new buildings will be designed with modern architecture and equipped with amenities such as meeting halls, internet connectivity, and public information systems, ensuring they remain functional hubs for years to come.
The launch of 500 Panchayat Ghars and CSCs is expected to boost rural infrastructure, create employment opportunities, and improve service delivery in villages, contributing to the overall socio-economic growth of Punjab.
