Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday visited the sacred Gurdwara Panjvi Patshahi Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Tarn Taran. During his visit, he bowed before the Guru Granth Sahib and offered prayers. Mann described it as a moment of deep spiritual fulfilment, saying he felt honoured to seek blessings at such a revered site.
Prayers for peace and prosperity
The Chief Minister said he prayed for the welfare, unity, and prosperity of all Punjabis. “I bowed my head in reverence and prayed that peace, harmony, and mutual brotherhood always prevail in Punjab,” he said in a social media post. Mann also wished for the state’s continuous progress and for the people to remain in chardikala (high spirits).
Emphasis on Punjab’s cultural and spiritual values
Highlighting the teachings of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Mann said Punjab’s rich spiritual and cultural traditions continue to guide the state toward compassion, service, and humanity. He stressed that the message of equality and peace taught by the Gurus remains vital in building a harmonious society.
Commitment to preserving heritage
Reaffirming his government’s dedication to protecting Punjab’s religious and cultural heritage, Mann said every effort is being made to maintain the sanctity of historical gurdwaras and promote the message of communal unity. He also called upon people to draw inspiration from Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s life and teachings to strengthen the social fabric of Punjab.
