In his message, the Chief Minister honoured 527 martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice to safeguard India’s unity, territorial integrity, and national honour during the Kargil conflict. He made special mention of the 65 brave soldiers from Punjab, stating that their valour and dedication continue to inspire generations and remain a source of immense pride for the entire state.

The Chief Minister emphasised that the legacy of the Kargil heroes should continue to inspire young people to serve the nation with dedication, discipline, and patriotism. He said the courage shown by the soldiers during one of India’s most challenging military operations would always be remembered in the country’s history.
Highlighting the importance of preserving the memory of the fallen heroes, Mann said that remembering their sacrifices and passing on their stories to future generations is the truest tribute that the nation can offer. He added that the courage and selflessness of the armed forces serve as a constant reminder of the price paid to protect the country’s sovereignty.
The Chief Minister also reaffirmed Punjab’s deep bond with the armed forces, noting that the state has a long and distinguished tradition of contributing brave soldiers to the nation’s defence. He said Punjab would always honour the families of martyrs and stand with those who have sacrificed everything for the country.
