Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann paid homage to legendary freedom fighter Shaheed Udham Singh on his martyrdom day by visiting Sunam, the revolutionary’s birthplace. The Chief Minister remembered Udham Singh’s sacrifice and described his legacy as a lasting source of inspiration for the nation.

In a message shared on social media, Mann bowed in respect to the revolutionary who avenged the victims of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, calling his unparalleled sacrifice a symbol of courage, patriotism, and justice.

He highlighted the state’s continued efforts to strengthen education, healthcare, employment, and overall development, stating that these initiatives reflect the ideals for which the martyrs fought.

Bhagwant Mann added that Shaheed Udham Singh’s contribution to India’s freedom struggle will always be remembered and that his values will continue to inspire future generations. He concluded his tribute with the slogan, “Inquilab Zindabad,” honouring the revolutionary spirit of India’s independence movement.

Shaheed Udham Singh is widely remembered for assassinating Michael O’Dwyer in London in 1940 as an act of retribution for the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. His sacrifice remains a defining chapter in India’s freedom movement.
