Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is all set to participate in the NITI Aayog meeting scheduled for today, where he is expected to assertively raise key concerns impacting the state. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader has vowed to make Punjab’s voice heard “loud and clear,” particularly on matters that have long demanded national attention.

Among the critical issues CM Mann will highlight are:

The BBMB (Bhakra Beas Management Board) Injustice – An issue Punjab alleges has led to administrative and operational imbalance, leaving the state disadvantaged.

Pending Rural Development Funds (RFD) – CM Mann is expected to press for the immediate release of these crucial funds, which are vital for infrastructure and welfare projects in rural Punjab.

Unfair Credit Limits – Punjab has frequently voiced concern over discriminatory financial ceilings imposed by the Centre, which CM Mann will seek to address during the high-level talks.

In addition, the Chief Minister will demand a special financial package for Punjab, citing years of fiscal neglect and the burden of legacy debt inherited from previous regimes.

“Punjab’s rights won’t be compromised,” CM Mann asserted ahead of the meeting, signaling a bold and unyielding stance

The meeting of the NITI Aayog, India’s apex policy think tank chaired by the Prime Minister, serves as a key platform for states to collaborate with the Centre on developmental strategies.

This participation marks another chapter in the Mann government’s push to reposition Punjab’s demands on the national policy agenda.
