According to CM Mann, the ceremony aims to celebrate the pride and glory these players have brought to both Punjab and the nation through their historic victory on the global stage. “These daughters of Punjab have made India proud. Honouring them is our duty and our joy,” Mann stated.

Punjab government will also inaugurate stadium

As part of the event, the Punjab government will also inaugurate stadium stands named after cricket icons Yuvraj Singh and Harmanpreet Kaur, highlighting their contributions and inspiring the next generation of athletes in the state. Officials said the new stadium is equipped with world-class facilities and is expected to emerge as a major hub for international cricket.

The state government has been focusing on promoting sports culture, upgrading infrastructure, and supporting young talent across districts. Celebrating the achievements of women cricketers, particularly those who have broken barriers to reach the top, is part of that broader push.

Sports enthusiasts, local residents, and aspiring athletes are expected to attend the ceremony, which will mark a proud moment for Punjab’s sporting community. The event reflects the government’s commitment to empowering female athletes and strengthening the state’s presence in national and international sports.
