The health department has been directed to remain on high alert, with surveillance teams monitoring potential cases and coordinating with hospitals for immediate response if required.

Officials have urged the public to stay informed through verified government updates and avoid spreading panic or misinformation. The situation remains under control, and preventive measures are in place to maintain public health security.

Public awareness campaigns are also being relaunched to promote hygiene practices, the use of masks in crowded areas, and the importance of early testing in case of symptoms. The health department has also appealed to citizens to report any flu-like symptoms to the nearest health centre.

While the situation in Punjab remains stable, Dr Balbir Singh reiterated that prevention and cooperation from the public are key. “We are prepared for all scenarios, but we also need the people’s support to maintain this COVID-free status,” he added.

The Mann government continues to work closely with central health authorities to monitor the situation and update protocols as necessary.
