Punjab Government issues notice to 30 private schools for charging high fees for books

A large number of complaints have been received on the email address issued by private schools in Punjab of complaints of loot in the name of books and funds. During the last 24 hours, more than 1600 complaints have been received on email, which have been sent to the district-wise constituted task force for investigation. The task force team will visit the schools to verify the facts and submit the report to the regulatory authority. On the other hand, notices have been issued to 30 private schools of the state for non-compliance of government instructions.

The Punjab Regulation of Fee of Unaided Educational Institution Bill 2016 and 2019 have been violated by these schools. These schools have been asked to reply in 7 days.

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that according to the guidelines of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, looting in the name of education will not be allowed in the state. He said that the schools to which notices have been issued today are Ram Ashram School in Amritsar district, Amritsar, Gurukul Public School in Bathinda district, Eastwood International School Doomwali, Pine Grove Public School in Fatehgarh Sahib district, Basi Pathana, Pinaka in Fazilka district. Senior Secondary School, Fazilka St. Kabir Gurukul Senior Secondary School, Assumption Convent School Abohar, Aspire International School Govindgarh, L. R. S. DAV Senior Secondary Model School, Abohar.Similarly, Galaxy Star Public School, Gurdaspur district, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Falahi, Hoshiarpur district, Sacred Heart Public School, Utlan, Spring Dale Senior Secondary School, Khanna Khurd, Ludhiana, Ram Lal Basin Public School, Ludhiana district also. Notices have been issued.

Apart from this, in Mansa district Shri Guru Nanak Dev Academy Jhunir, Jindal International School, Rampur Mander, English Grammar School, Bade, N. R. M. Holy Heart Convent School Budhlada, N. R. M. Holy Heart Convent School Boha, BHS Senior Secondary School Barnala, District Mansa, Mother Dream Public School, Budhlada, Aasra International School in Sangrur District, Sant Baba Ranjit Singh Public Senior Secondary School, Dhuri, Sanskar Valley Smart School, Bhawanigarh, British Convent School , Sunam and District Sahibzada Ajit. Notice has been issued to Sakonies World School, Ghataur, Singh Nagar and Rayat Bahri International School, Sahoda.
