Reiterating the Bhagwant Mann government’s strong focus on infrastructure quality, the Chief Minister’s Flying Squad conducted a detailed inspection of newly constructed roads in Barnala district. The surprise checks were aimed at ensuring that road construction meets prescribed standards and delivers long-term durability for the public.
Punjab Government Prioritises Road Quality
During the inspection, the CM Flying Squad collected samples of construction materials used in different roads across the area. Officials examined the weight, thickness, and overall quality of the material, carrying out a step-by-step assessment to verify compliance with government norms. Each technical aspect of the road construction was closely scrutinised to rule out any compromise in quality.
CM Bhagwant Mann Flying Squad Inspects Newly Built Roads in Barnala
According to AAP Punjab, the Bhagwant Mann-led government has made road quality a top priority, making it clear that negligence, substandard work, or corruption in public infrastructure projects will not be tolerated. Regular field inspections and strict monitoring mechanisms have been put in place to ensure transparency and accountability in development works.
The state government maintains that such inspections not only improve construction standards but also strengthen public trust by ensuring that taxpayer money is used efficiently. The Mann government has repeatedly stressed that safe, durable, and high-quality roads are essential for economic growth, connectivity, and public convenience across Punjab.
In addition, officials said that reports from the Barnala inspection will be reviewed at the state level, and strict action will be taken against contractors or agencies if any deviation from quality norms is found. The Mann government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards poor workmanship and has warned that blacklisting and financial penalties may be imposed in cases of repeated violations.
The Aam Aadmi Party government has also emphasised the use of modern testing methods and transparent monitoring systems to improve the lifespan of roads across Punjab. By conducting random checks through the CM Flying Squad, the government aims to send a clear message that development projects will be evaluated on the ground, not just on paper.
