Delhi to host grand events in remembrance of Guru Sahib’s supreme sacrifice
Punjab Government will observe the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Hind Di Chadar — Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji — with deep reverence and respect. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji sacrificed his life to uphold the principles of faith, righteousness, and humanity, setting an eternal example of courage and compassion.
Commemorative ceremonies begin in Delhi
The commemorative programmes will commence on October 25 at Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Delhi, with ardas (prayer) in the holy presence of Guru Sahib. Later in the evening, at 6 PM, a grand Kirtan Darbar will be organized at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib, where devotees will gather to remember the teachings and legacy of the ninth Sikh Guru.
Call to participate in devotion and service
Kejriwal invited people from across the country to attend the Kirtan Darbar and partake in the langar to receive Guru Sahib’s blessings. He emphasized that the 350th Shaheedi Diwas is not only a spiritual commemoration but also a reminder of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s timeless message of religious freedom, unity, and selfless service.
Tribute to the martyrs
The event will also pay homage to Guru Sahib’s loyal disciples — Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji — who embraced martyrdom alongside their Guru in the defense of faith and human dignity.
Honouring the legacy of sacrifice and faith
Through these observances, the Punjab Government aims to spread Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s message of peace, sacrifice, and brotherhood, inspiring future generations to live by the values of truth and humanity that define Sikh history and ethos.
