Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday said it was a matter of pride that the work and policies of the Aam Aadmi Party–led Punjab government are being discussed in the Haryana Legislative Assembly, reflecting growing recognition of the “Punjab Model” of governance.

In a post on social media, Mann highlighted that during discussions in the Haryana Assembly, reference was made to Punjab’s ‘Jiska Khet, Uski Ret’ policy, with demands raised to implement a similar provision for farmers in the neighbouring state. The policy grants farmers rights over sand extraction on their own land, a move aimed at empowering cultivators while curbing illegal mining.
Arvind Kejriwal said that the mention of Punjab’s policies
“For us, it is a proud moment that the work of our government is being discussed beyond Punjab. This shows that honest intent and people-centric policies deliver results,” the chief minister said. He added that the Punjab government, under the leadership of AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, is working with transparency and a clear focus on public welfare.
Echoing the sentiment, Arvind Kejriwal said that the mention of Punjab’s policies in the Haryana Assembly reflects the impact of governance reforms introduced by the Mann government. “Bhagwant Mann’s government gave farmers their rightful ownership through the ‘Jiska Khet, Uski Ret’ policy and put a check on mining mafias,” Kejriwal said.
The Punjab government has repeatedly projected the policy as a major step toward dismantling illegal sand mining networks while ensuring that farmers benefit directly from resources on their land. Officials say the initiative has brought greater transparency and reduced exploitation by middlemen.
Political observers note that the discussion of Punjab’s policies in other state legislatures underlines the growing influence of the Punjab governance model, with several states closely watching its farmer-centric and anti-mafia measures.
