Under the Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana, eligible families will be able to avail cashless treatment for various diseases and medical procedures at empanelled hospitals. The scheme is expected to benefit a large section of the population, particularly low- and middle-income families who often delay or avoid treatment due to financial limitations.

The Chief Minister said the initiative reflects the state government’s focus on strengthening the public healthcare system and reducing the financial burden of medical expenses on households. He added that the government’s priority is to ensure timely treatment and prevent families from falling into debt due to health-related emergencies.

Health department officials said necessary steps are being taken to implement the scheme effectively, including empanelment of hospitals and awareness campaigns to inform people about the benefits and eligibility criteria.

The Punjab government said the Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana marks a significant step towards universal healthcare coverage in the state and is expected to improve overall health outcomes while promoting social security for citizens.
