Punjab News: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday claimed that officials from the Election Commission (EC) reached Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s official residence at Kapurthala House, Delhi, to conduct a search.
In a statement, AAP alleged that a team of EC officials was present at Mann’s residence as part of an official search operation. However, the Election Commission later clarified that it does not conduct raids or interfere in investigations, dismissing AAP’s claim as misleading.
Delhi Police Seizes Vehicle With Liquor and Cash
This development follows an incident on Wednesday, when the Delhi Police seized a private vehicle bearing a Punjab government sticker and registration number near Punjab Bhawan.

The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
EC Clarifies Action Was Based on Public Complaint
In response to AAP’s claims, an Election Commission official stated that the search was not a raid but a routine check conducted by the Flying Surveillance Team (FST). The team acted upon a complaint filed on the C-Vigil app, which allows citizens to report Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violations during elections.
The EC official further explained:
The complaint alleged money distribution and had to be resolved within 100 minutes as per protocol.
The FST team was deployed accordingly, leading to their presence near Mann’s residence.
Kejriwal Accuses Congress of Aligning With BJP
Meanwhile, AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal launched an attack on the Congress, accusing it of collaborating with the BJP to ensure AAP’s defeat in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
As political tensions rise ahead of the elections, this incident has added fuel to the ongoing battle between AAP, Congress, and BJP.
