In a major step towards strengthening rural healthcare, the AAP-led Punjab government has launched 10 new Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) for the Mansa and Bathinda districts. This initiative, spearheaded by Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, aims to provide free and accessible medical services to people in remote areas, significantly reducing their need to travel for healthcare.

With this addition, Punjab now has a total of 77 operational MMUs across the state, ensuring healthcare reaches even the most underserved communities.
The newly launched MMUs will offer a range of healthcare services, including:
✔ Free medical consultations
✔ Over 40 diagnostic tests
✔ Access to more than 220 essential medicines
✔ Home visits for those unable to reach medical facilities
Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh emphasized that this initiative aligns with AAP’s vision of making quality healthcare accessible to all, particularly those living in villages and far-off areas. “The AAP government is committed to delivering essential healthcare services at people’s doorsteps, ensuring no one is deprived of medical aid due to distance or financial constraints,” he said.
The introduction of mobile medical units is expected to significantly reduce the burden on rural hospitals and primary healthcare centers, ensuring quicker diagnosis and treatment. These fully equipped mobile clinics will address common illnesses, chronic diseases, maternal care, and emergency medical needs.
The Punjab government under CM Bhagwant Mann remains dedicated to strengthening the state’s healthcare infrastructure. The expansion of MMUs is a crucial step in fulfilling AAP’s promise of accessible and affordable medical services for all.
