Punjab News: In a significant operation against drug trafficking, the Amritsar Rural Police apprehended three individuals involved in smuggling narcotics from Pakistan using drones. The operation led to the recovery of 4 kilograms of heroin and a 9mm pistol. The contraband was intercepted during an intelligence-driven raid, highlighting the persistent threat of cross-border smuggling.

FIR Registered Under NDPS Act

An FIR has been lodged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Gharinda. Investigators are now working to identify other accomplices and map out the larger smuggling network responsible for the operation.

The Director General of Police (DGP) of Punjab reaffirmed the department’s commitment to eliminating drug trafficking in the state. "We remain steadfast in our fight against organized crime and drug smuggling," the DGP stated, emphasizing ongoing efforts to dismantle such networks.
