Punjab News: AP Plans Massive Rally and Health Infrastructure Campaign in Patiala Ahead of Lok Sabha Poll

Punjab News: In t lolhe lead-up to the Lok Sabha elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is set to showcase its strength in Patiala as Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann are scheduled to host a rally on October 2. To ensure the safety and security of the event, more than 2,000 police personnel have been deployed at the venue on the outskirts of the city.

AAP will kickstart its ambitious Punjab health infrastructure improvement campaign, valued at Rs 550 crore, during the event. Mann, alongside Kejriwal, will officially inaugurate a new Intensive Care Unit (ICU) along with 66 beds equipped with ventilators and cardiac monitors at Mata Kaushalya Hospital.

Following this, the party has planned a political rally on the Patiala-Sangrur road, expected to draw thousands of party workers from across the state. Sources within AAP have disclosed that transportation arrangements have been made, with buses assigned to each segment to ferry workers to the rally venue.

Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh elaborated on the campaign’s objectives, stating, “After bolstering the primary healthcare system, our government’s next focus is strengthening secondary healthcare. Hence, we have allocated a budget of Rs 550 crore, which will be utilized to upgrade district hospitals, sub-division hospitals, and community health centers. These facilities will feature fully equipped emergency blocks, CT scans, MRIs, ventilators, cardiac monitoring beds, and more. In the first phase, we have identified 19 district hospitals, six sub-division hospitals, and 40 community healthcare centers for this upgrade.”

Punjab AAP’s working president and MLA, Budh Ram, emphasized the party’s commitment to the “INDIA” bloc and clarified that there was no vendetta involved in the case against Sukhpal Khaira and his subsequent arrest. He pointed out, “The FIR was registered during the Congress tenure, and the arrest is in accordance with the law.
