Bhagwant Mann Announces Reopening of Schools from September 9 Amid Safety Measures

The tweet mentioned that government schools, colleges, and universities will reopen for regular academic activities while adhering to strict safety protocols. Essential guidelines for the structural safety of school buildings have already been issued to ensure the well-being of students and teachers.

September 8 will remain a preparatory day

Ahead of the reopening, September 8 will remain a preparatory day, during which schools will remain closed for students. Teachers will report to school and conduct thorough safety and sanitation checks in collaboration with School Management Committees (SMCs), Panchayats, Municipal Councils, and Corporations. These checks aim to guarantee that school buildings and classrooms are safe and hygienic before the resumption of studies.

Moreover, private school managements are mandated to ensure that their buildings and classrooms meet safety standards to protect students and teaching staff. Any structural defects or issues must be immediately reported to the Deputy Commissioner of the respective district. This initiative reinforces the government’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare of students and educators.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann emphasized that education must not come to a halt despite the adversities. The government’s proactive measures aim to balance safety with the continuity of learning, ensuring that students do not fall behind academically.

This step highlights the resolve of the Punjab government under Bhagwant Mann’s leadership to provide uninterrupted education while maintaining strict safety standards in schools. It serves as an important example of governance focused on long-term development, even amid short-term challenges like natural calamities.
