The Punjab government has urged the Centre to resolve this dispute and ensure that farmers receive their rightful payment.

Officials have also been instructed to coordinate with market agencies and the Centre to stabilize cotton prices, preventing losses to farmers and encouraging the cultivation of quality Narma cotton.
Looking ahead, the government is also planning to provide incentives for crop diversification, including subsidies for modern farming equipment, seeds, and irrigation facilities. Training programs are being rolled out to educate farmers about sustainable agricultural practices and better yield management, ensuring that Punjab’s agriculture sector remains competitive and profitable while protecting the interests of its farming community.
