In a progressive step to promote industrial development and enhance ease of doing business, the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government has announced the formation of sector-wise advisory committees aimed at addressing the unique challenges and needs of different industries.
According to an official statement shared by AAP Punjab, the state government recognizes that each industrial sector faces distinct issues, and therefore, customized solutions and policies are the need of the hour.
Key Highlights of the New Initiative
For every industrial sector, a dedicated 8 to 10-member committee will be constituted.
Each committee will be headed by a Chairman and will include key stakeholders and experts.
These committees will be responsible for providing recommendations and insights directly to the government.
The Punjab Cabinet has directed the committees to submit their first reports within 45 days, ensuring a fast-track consultation process.
Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora Speaks
Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, who is leading the initiative, emphasized that the collaborative approach will help shape policies based on real ground-level challenges, instead of a one-size-fits-all model.
“Our aim is to ensure that government policies are sector-specific and stakeholder-informed. These committees will bridge the gap between the government and industries,” said Arora.
Focus on Speed, Clarity, and Industry Inclusion
The government has set a strict timeline to receive inputs and implement reforms quickly, reinforcing its commitment to transforming Punjab into an industry-friendly state. The committees will play a pivotal role in aligning the state's industrial policy with the real-time needs of entrepreneurs and manufacturers.
