The Punjab government has intensified its anti-drug campaign, ‘War Against Drugs,’ under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. In a significant move, Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab chief and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora chaired a high-level meeting with senior officials to discuss tougher measures against drug traffickers.
Focus on Strengthening Anti-Drug Enforcement
During the meeting, Minister Aman Arora emphasized the need for stricter action against drug networks operating in Punjab. He directed officials to crack down on drug peddlers with zero tolerance and ensure that no trafficker escapes the law.
He reiterated the Punjab government’s commitment to eradicating drugs, stating that strict vigilance, intelligence-driven operations, and coordinated action will be key in tackling the menace. Arora also instructed law enforcement agencies to increase surveillance in high-risk areas, boost inter-agency cooperation, and fast-track cases against those involved in drug-related crimes.
Government’s Firm Stance Against Drug Menace
The Punjab government has been actively working to eliminate drug abuse and trafficking in the state. Under the 'War Against Drugs' initiative, special task forces have been deployed to curb smuggling routes, track suppliers, and dismantle drug networks.
Minister Arora also called upon citizens to cooperate with authorities by reporting any suspicious activities, ensuring community participation in the fight against drugs. He assured that the AAP government will not rest until Punjab is drug-free and that those fueling the crisis will face the full force of the law.
Increased Coordination with Law Enforcement
The meeting concluded with a clear directive to Punjab Police and enforcement agencies to further strengthen operations, collaborate with central agencies, and leverage technology-driven solutions to effectively track and eliminate drug trafficking networks.
With this renewed push, the Bhagwant Mann-led government aims to accelerate its mission of making Punjab drug-free, ensuring a safer and healthier future for its people.
