In a major move aimed at fostering entrepreneurship among school students, the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government has launched the 'Business Blaster' program across government schools in the state. The initiative seeks to transform students’ skills into real-world opportunities in employment and business.

Announced with the tagline, “Turning talent into trade,” the program is tailored to equip students with entrepreneurial thinking, business exposure, and seed funding to bring their innovative ideas to life.

What Is the Business Blaster Program?

Under this initiative, students from government schools will be encouraged to pitch their business ideas.

Selected students or teams will receive financial assistance from the government as seed capital to start their micro-business projects.

They will be mentored and trained by professionals from business and startup ecosystems to ensure structured guidance.

The program, already a success in Delhi under the AAP government, is being implemented in Punjab as part of a broader mission to link education with employability and innovation.

Speaking on the rollout, officials stated that this is not just a scheme but a movement—aimed at preparing the next generation of entrepreneurs who can create jobs instead of just seeking them.

With the introduction of the Business Blaster program, the Punjab Government aims to:

Reduce the gap between education and industry needs

Inculcate entrepreneurial mindsets from a young age

Provide real-world exposure in trade and business management

Encourage self-reliance among students, especially in rural areas

This initiative is a part of the Mann government’s ongoing focus on education reform and youth empowerment, which also includes infrastructure upgrades, teacher training, and skill development.
