Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora officially launched the doorstep delivery of services at Sewa Kendras, aiming to provide hassle-free government services to citizens. The initiative, inaugurated in Chandigarh, is part of the Punjab government’s efforts to enhance public service accessibility and reduce the need for people to visit government offices.
Government Services at Citizens’ Doorstep
With this initiative, residents can now avail various government services without stepping out of their homes. The move is expected to cut long queues, reduce delays, and eliminate middlemen. Minister Aman Arora emphasized that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is committed to making governance more transparent, efficient, and citizen-friendly.
Expanding the Reach of Sewa Kendras
Sewa Kendras have already played a crucial role in providing birth certificates, property records, income certificates, and other essential documents. With the doorstep delivery model, citizens can now request these services online or via phone, and government officials will deliver them to their homes.
Minister Arora stated that the government is leveraging technology to ensure the seamless processing of applications. He added that this step would particularly benefit the elderly, differently-abled individuals, and those living in remote areas.
A Step Towards Efficient Governance
The Punjab government is also working to digitize services and simplify administrative processes, ensuring that government work is completed quickly and without unnecessary hurdles.
The launch event in Chandigarh marked the beginning of a larger transformation in Punjab’s public service delivery system. With doorstep services, the AAP-led administration aims to set a new standard for governance, ensuring that citizens receive timely and efficient assistance without inconvenience.
