The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is making significant strides to improve the condition of farmers in the state. With a focus on transforming the agricultural sector, the government is bringing positive change, ensuring a better future for farmers.
Job Opportunities for Farmers' Families in Punjab
In a remarkable move, CM Bhagwant Mann’s government has extended support to the families of farmers who tragically lost their lives during the anti-farm laws protests. The state has provided jobs to the families of 597 farmers who were affected. This gesture has set an example of empathy and solidarity towards the farming community. Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian handed over appointment letters to these candidates, with three of them appointed in the Statistics Wing of the Agriculture Department.

Punjab’s Agricultural Sector Under Transformation
CM Bhagwant Mann is prioritising the welfare of farmers through several measures, especially by addressing the economic aspects of farming. One notable step has been the increase in sugarcane prices by ₹10 per quintal. This move has not only boosted farmers' incomes but has also led to an increase in sugarcane farming in Punjab.
Additionally, the Mann government has been paying special attention to paddy procurement, another critical crop in the state. These actions reflect a clear focus on rejuvenating the agricultural sector, ensuring it remains sustainable and profitable for farmers.
