Punjab News: The Punjab government’s ongoing campaign against narcotics continued its aggressive stance on the 115th day of action under the 'Yudh Nashe De Virudh' (War Against Drugs) mission. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann shared the latest updates on social media, highlighting the scale of operations carried out across the state.

According to Mann, the state police conducted raids at 482 locations, resulting in the arrest of 140 drug traffickers in a single day. Law enforcement agencies also registered 97 FIRs in connection with these operations.

Significant Seizures Reported

As per the figures released:

3 kilograms of heroin were recovered

₹60,500 in drug money was seized

The crackdown marks a continued push against organised drug networks in Punjab

“This is not just a campaign but a commitment to cleanse Punjab of the drug menace. We will not stop until every last drug trafficker is behind bars,” Mann said in earlier statements.

Over 19,000 Arrests in 115 Days

The Chief Minister further revealed that since the beginning of the anti-drug drive, a total of 19,007 drug traffickers have been arrested across the state. The campaign, launched as a priority under his government, aims to dismantle the drug supply chain, hold smugglers accountable, and offer a rehabilitative approach to victims of addiction.

Public Cooperation and Vigilance Encouraged

Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity via helpline numbers. The administration is also taking steps to strengthen de-addiction programs and rehabilitation services, ensuring a balanced approach of enforcement and recovery.

As the campaign enters its next phase, officials emphasize that the momentum must be maintained, with full cooperation from both the public and local communities.
