Punjab News: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday instructed Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to conduct field visits to speed up the procurement and lifting of paddy across the state.
Increased Paddy Arrivals in Mandis
During a virtual meeting with the DCs, Mann noted that the arrival of paddy in the mandis had increased, stressing that farmers should not face any delays or challenges in selling their produce. He emphasized the need for smooth and hassle-free procurement and directed DCs to ensure the process is carried out efficiently.
Field Visits and Monitoring
To ensure the procurement process is on track, Mann asked the DCs to visit 7-8 mandis daily and monitor operations at the ground level. He also requested the officers to submit daily reports on their observations and the progress of the procurement process.
