Taking a significant step towards inclusive governance, the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab government inaugurated a newly built old age home in Barnala today, dedicated to the care of destitute and abandoned elderly citizens. The inauguration was attended by Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, who highlighted the Mann government’s unwavering focus on welfare and compassion for all sections of society.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Baljit Kaur said, “It is our foremost duty to take care of our elderly. Without them, even the courtyards of homes feel empty. The Mann government believes that every section of society deserves attention, respect, and care.” Her remarks echo the larger vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s administration, which aims to build a Punjab that ensures dignity and support for all—especially the vulnerable.
The event was also shared on social media by AAP Punjab, which posted, “Mann Sarkar rakh rahi har varg da khyaal” (The Mann government is taking care of every section of society). This message reinforces the government’s commitment to inclusive development, where no community or age group is left behind.
The newly inaugurated old age home is expected to serve as a safe, clean, and compassionate environment for the elderly who lack family support or housing. Equipped with modern facilities, medical assistance, and daily care services, the home represents a humane approach to governance and public service.
With initiatives like these, the Mann government continues to underline its vision of a progressive and caring Punjab—where senior citizens, often overlooked, are treated with the dignity and attention they rightfully deserve.
