Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann’s government has announced a massive industrial investment boost, with Vardhman Special Steel set to invest ₹2,500 crore in Ludhiana. The announcement was made by Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, highlighting Punjab’s commitment to ease of doing business and fast-track approvals for industries.
Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, addressing a press conference, said that the upcoming project marks a turning point for Punjab’s business ecosystem. He assured that the state government is providing every possible facility to industrialists and investors to boost the local economy and generate new employment opportunities.
Arora emphasized that the government has streamlined approval systems to attract big-ticket investments. “The company will receive all necessary approvals within 45 days of application. Even if the clearances are delayed, the company will still be allowed to begin operations without waiting for paperwork,” he explained.

The ₹2,500 crore investment by Vardhman Special Steel is expected to strengthen Punjab’s reputation as an emerging industrial hub, especially in the steel and manufacturing sectors.
