Punjab News: Severe heatwave gripping Punjab is presently causing temperatures in key towns like Amritsar, Patiala, Bathinda, and Sangrur to climb between 42 and 45 degrees Celsius (107.6 and 113 degrees Fahrenheit). A considerable number of voters are turning out to cast ballots in the state's 13 Lok Sabha constituencies in today's Lok sabha Election final round, despite the intense heat.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann made a sincere plea to people while casting an early ballot with his wife Gurpreet Kaur and other prominent party figures. Everyone should leave their houses, exercise their right to vote, and select skilled leaders who will act in their best interests, CM Mann advised. His message seemed to be hitting home with voters, as Punjab's voter participation had already reached 46.38% by 3 PM.

Rising Voter Turnout Despite the Heat

All 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab are currently in the voting process. CM Bhagwant Singh Mann's call to action has evidently had a positive impact, with voting percentages steadily rising. According to the Election Commission, by 3 PM, 49.68% of voters had cast their ballots in the 7th phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Specifically, in Punjab, an average of 46.38% voting has been recorded across all 13 constituencies. Both the Election Commission and local administration are making efforts to encourage more voters to visit polling booths and increase the turnout.

CM Mann Votes with His Wife Amidst Heat Wave

Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann participated in this democratic process by casting his vote alongside his wife. He emphasized, "It's very hot, but our children's future depends on these votes, and that's why I'm voting with my wife." Despite the extreme heat, CM Mann has been actively campaigning, holding 122 rallies in the last 25 days to urge people to vote based on his performance and promises.
