Punjab News: Punjab is witnessing significant strides in innovation, recording an impressive fivefold growth in intellectual property (IP) innovation over the last decade. According to the recent Ecowrap report by the State Bank of India, Punjab has secured the second position among emerging states in terms of its innovation share.
Emerges as an Innovation Hub with Fivefold Growth in Intellectual Property (IP) Innovation
The state has exhibited remarkable progress, increasing its innovation share from 1% in the period of 2004-2013 to an impressive 5.8% in 2014-2023. This remarkable rise positions Punjab at the forefront of innovation among emerging states.
Intellectual property encompasses a broad spectrum of creations, including literary works, artistic expressions, symbols, designs, inventions, images, names, computer code, and more. Punjab's substantial growth in IP innovation is indicative of its commitment to technological and economic advancement, solidifying its status as a burgeoning hub for innovation in the country.
