In a startling development, former MLA Boni Ajnala, once considered a close aide of senior Akali leader Bikram Majithia, has made serious allegations implicating Majithia in Punjab’s multi-crore drug trade. The revelations were shared through an official tweet by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab, adding fresh fuel to the already heated political discourse on the state's drug crisis.

According to Boni Ajnala, Majithia introduced him to international drug traffickers like Satta and Pindi, referring to them as his “close friends.” Ajnala further alleged that these drug smugglers operated freely under Majithia’s patronage and protection.

₹6,000 Crore Drug Money at the Core

The former MLA accused Majithia of being the central figure in a ₹6,000 crore drug money laundering racket. Ajnala claimed that during the previous Congress government, crucial records related to the drug case mysteriously disappeared from Banur police station — an act he linked to political collusion aimed at protecting Majithia and his alleged network.

Political Fallout Intensifies

AAP’s tweet not only revives public memory of Majithia’s controversial past but also accuses him of harboring and empowering narcotics traffickers under the guise of political and social alliances.

The explosive statement from Boni Ajnala is expected to have significant political ramifications as Punjab continues to grapple with its battle against drugs. It also puts renewed pressure on enforcement agencies and political stakeholders to investigate these claims thoroughly.

This isn’t the first time Majithia has been under the scanner. However, with a former associate now openly turning against him, the drug debate in Punjab may take a dramatic new turn ahead of upcoming political developments.

These revelations come at a crucial time when the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has vowed zero tolerance against the drug menace. Boni Ajnala's testimony may pave the way for further investigations into the political nexus allegedly shielding narcotics operations. The public and opposition parties are now demanding a transparent probe and swift legal action against those involved, regardless of political stature.
