Punjab News: Students studying in Punjab government schools have a reason to rejoice as the State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Punjab has announced the Vidyadhan Scholarship Scheme. This initiative, launched by the Sarojini Damodar Foundation, has been operational since 2023 and aims to provide educational assistance to economically disadvantaged students.
Eligibility and Benefits
The scholarship is designed for students whose annual family income is less than ₹2 lakh. Under this scheme, students who score more than 80% in board examinations and children with special needs (CWSN) who score up to 70% are eligible. Selected students will receive scholarships for two years from the Sarojini Damodar Foundation.
In addition to the primary scholarship, students demonstrating excellent academic performance will receive further financial support. Depending on their interests and chosen courses or degrees, they can receive stipends ranging from ₹15,000 to ₹75,000. This additional support aims to help meritorious students achieve their educational and career goals.
Application Process and Deadline
District education officers have been instructed to encourage eligible students to apply online for the Vidyadhan Scholarship by July 31. The application process is straightforward and user-friendly, ensuring that many students can benefit from the scheme.

For more information, students and parents can contact the help desk established by the department. District education officers will also spread awareness about the scheme in their respective areas and assist eligible students with the application process.
