Punjab News: Government Aims for Full Livestock Vaccination Against Foot and Mouth Disease by December 20

Punjab News: State’s animal husbandry department is on a mission to vaccinate the entire 65-lakh-strong livestock against foot and mouth disease (FMD) by December 20. Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian revealed that the government has acquired 68.45 lakh doses of the FMD vaccine as part of the national animal disease control program.

48.73 lakh doses have been administered:

Already, 48.73 lakh doses have been administered, covering approximately 75% of the livestock. The minister emphasized the global threat FMD poses to livestock and urged dairy farmers to contact nearby veterinary institutions for free vaccinations, which are conveniently provided at their doorsteps.
