Punjab News : Government Initiates Major Employment Drive Under CM Bhagwant Singh Mann

Punjab News: In a significant move towards boosting employment among the youth, Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has recently distributed job letters to 2,487 young individuals in a ceremony held in Sangrur. The initiative marks a substantial effort to provide government jobs across various departments, reinforcing the state government's commitment to eradicating unemployment and ensuring merit-based recruitment.

Of the total jobs provided, a notable portion, 1,750 positions, were allocated within the home department. Other departments benefiting from this recruitment drive include social security, women and child development with 205 positions, revenue department receiving 39 new employees, and the excise department welcoming 60 individuals. Additionally, the local government department saw a significant boost with 421 positions filled, while the cooperation and technical education departments received four and eight new employees, respectively.

Since taking office on March 16, 2022, CM Mann has been focused on transforming the employment landscape in Punjab. He highlighted the stark difference in the recruitment process, emphasizing that, unlike before, jobs are now awarded purely based on merit rather than through corrupt practices or nepotism. This change has not only improved the public's perception of government jobs but has also encouraged the youth to seek employment within the country, hinting at a reversal in the trend of migration abroad in search of better opportunities.
