Punjab News: The Punjab government has reintroduced the Voluntary Disclosure Scheme (VDS) to facilitate the increase of electricity load for consumers across the state. In a recent announcement made through a tweet, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann shared essential details about the scheme. This initiative primarily aims at encouraging consumers to legally enhance their electricity load capacity, ensuring safety and compliance.
Government Relaunches Self-Declaration Scheme to Increase Electricity Load
Under this revised scheme, agricultural consumers looking to increase the load for tube well motors will benefit significantly. The service connection charge has been reduced drastically from ₹4,750 to just ₹25, and the security deposit has been halved from ₹400 to ₹200 per horsepower. Furthermore, domestic and commercial consumers are also encouraged to participate, as the scheme offers a 50% reduction in service connection charges for them.
