In a significant move under its "Education Revolution" initiative, the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced that air conditioners (ACs) will now be installed in government schools across the state.

Government Schools in Punjab to Get ACs

The decision, announced via an official tweet by AAP Punjab, is aimed at improving the learning environment for students and ensuring comfortable classrooms during the harsh summer months. This step is being seen as a landmark moment in Punjab’s ongoing efforts to revamp its public education infrastructure.

Mann Government Takes Big Step Under Education Revolution

The Mann government has already undertaken several reforms in the education sector, including improving classroom facilities, enhancing digital learning tools, and sending teachers abroad for training. The installation of ACs marks another step toward making government schools at par with private institutions.

More details regarding the implementation timeline, the number of schools covered, and the budget allocation are expected to be announced in the coming days.

This move has been widely appreciated by students, parents, and educationists, who say it reflects a student-centric approach and a serious commitment to quality education.

According to initial reports, the rollout will begin in phases, prioritizing schools in high-temperature zones and densely populated areas. The Punjab Education Department will oversee the installation, and funds will be drawn from both state resources and CSR contributions from local industries.

The government has also clarified that maintenance and electricity usage will be planned sustainably, ensuring there is no burden on the schools.

This move further strengthens Punjab’s reputation as a frontrunner in educational reforms. As other states take note, Punjab continues to lead by example in student welfare and school modernization.
