Punjab News: In a bid to boost voter turnout to over 70%, a concerted awareness campaign is underway in the district. Several institutions have joined hands to incentivize voting by offering special discounts. Adding to this initiative, three petrol pump owners in the district have stepped forward.
Local Petrol Pump Owners Offer Special Discounts to Encourage Voter Turnout
Dr. Himanshu Agrawal, the District Election Officer, revealed that Amar Highway Filling Station in Paragpur, Amar Highway Filling Station in Kartarpur, and Rakha Filling Station in Suranssi have announced special discounts for voters on June 1st.
At these locations, a discount of two rupees per liter on petrol and diesel, and five rupees per liter on XP100 petrol, will be provided. Dr. Agrawal commended the efforts made by the petrol pump owners during a meeting, stating that their efforts would further enhance the activities under the partnership sweep campaign with the district administration.

During discussions with petrol pump owners, it was emphasized that this voluntary initiative of commercial brotherhood will prove instrumental in achieving the goal of more than 70% voting in the district.
Prior to this, significant discounts were announced by various hotels, sports facilities, eateries, immigration consultants, and outlets on June 1st, motivating people to exercise their voting rights.
