In a groundbreaking move, the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Minister Kuldeep Singh, has launched a first-of-its-kind initiative aimed at resolving grievances of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs). The second online NRI meeting, held as part of this initiative, saw over 100 complaints addressed, covering a wide range of issues, including property disputes, illegal possessions, and marriage-related cases.

Widespread Participation from Global Diaspora

NRIs from countries such as the United States, Canada, England, Australia, Germany, and Austria participated in the meeting, highlighting the global reach of Punjab’s diaspora. The government assured that each complaint would be resolved promptly, with clear directives issued to Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to prioritize these cases.

High-Level Officials Oversee the Process

The online session was attended by top-ranking officials, including ADGP Praveen Kumar Sinha and AIG Ajinder Singh, who supervised the discussions and ensured the swift issuance of necessary instructions.

Strengthening Ties with the Diaspora

This initiative is a significant step toward fostering a stronger bond between Punjab and its global diaspora. The government has emphasized that timely redressal of grievances will enhance trust and encourage more NRIs to stay connected with their roots.

The Punjab government’s proactive approach underscores its commitment to justice and fairness, particularly for overseas Punjabis who often face unique challenges. By addressing their concerns effectively, the state is setting an example for other regions in India.

With this landmark initiative, Punjab has taken a bold step toward ensuring that its diaspora feels valued and supported, strengthening ties across borders.
