Punjab News: The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Social Justice Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, held a review meeting to evaluate the progress of various welfare schemes. The Social Justice Department aims to empower communities and promote inclusive growth by ensuring public access to key initiatives.
Ashirwad Scheme: Provides financial assistance for marriage expenses of daughters in economically weaker sections.
Post-Matric Scholarships: Aims to improve higher education opportunities for students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Backward Classes (BC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
Adarsh Gram Yojana: Focuses on the holistic development of villages, creating model rural areas.
Public Convenience at Dr. Ambedkar Bhawans
The government has directed that Dr. Ambedkar Bhawans in each district be utilized as gyms and libraries, making them accessible to the public. This move is aimed at enhancing community engagement and providing productive spaces for youth and students.
To ensure that welfare schemes reach SC, BC, EWS, and minority communities, the government emphasized the need for awareness camps. These will promote self-employment loans and other financial assistance programs, enabling economic upliftment for underprivileged groups.
