Punjab News: Schools, colleges, and government offices across the state will remain closed in observance of two significant holidays. On October 2, the nation will celebrate Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, a public holiday observed across the country.
In addition to this, there will be another holiday on October 3 to mark Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti. On this day, all government and private offices, banks, schools, and colleges will remain closed. Moreover, October 3 has been declared a “dry day,” which means liquor stores will also be closed.
This is just the beginning of an extended period of public holidays in October, as major festivals like Dussehra, Diwali, and Durga Puja are set to take place. These festivals will offer a series of holidays, bringing much-needed relief to employees and students who will enjoy extended time off throughout the month.
