Punjab News: The Punjab government has instructed all deputy commissioners (DCs) to compile a list of development projects that can be inaugurated or initiated in the state. A pro forma has been sent to the DCs, detailing the information required for each project. This initiative, confirmed by various DCs in the state, is perceived to be part of preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Preparations for LS Elections Prompt Initiative to Expedite Development Projects
Sources indicate that the list is strategically being prepared to allow ministers, MLAs, and other senior party members to inaugurate these projects before the election code of conduct comes into effect. The pro forma instructs DCs to include project costs and details of potential funding from the Union government, if applicable.
While no specific deadline has been provided, officials have been urged to submit the details promptly. AAP MLAs are reportedly holding regular meetings to expedite development works, instructing district administration officials to accelerate pending projects and complete paperwork for new initiatives. This move aligns with the party's efforts to showcase developmental achievements and initiatives in the lead-up to the elections.
