The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh, has issued a series of directives aimed at accelerating urban development and improving civic infrastructure across the state. With a strong focus on planned growth, waste management, and efficient public services, these initiatives align with the government’s vision of a clean, modern, and well-organized “Rangla Punjab.”

Key Initiatives for Urban Development

Punjab’s development funds will now be utilized immediately, ensuring that no urban project faces financial hurdles. The government has assured that all pending and upcoming projects will receive the necessary funding without delays.

Additionally, a strict implementation of the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Program has been directed to tackle the growing issue of stray dogs in urban areas. This initiative aims to enhance public safety while ensuring humane treatment of animals.

Tackling Illegal Constructions and Waste Management

To promote planned urban development, the government has announced a crackdown on illegal constructions. Unauthorized structures will be dealt with strictly, preventing haphazard urban expansion and ensuring better infrastructure planning.

Scientific waste disposal and garbage elimination are also top priorities. The government aims to improve waste management systems, making cities cleaner and more livable.

Digital Transformation and Better Civic Amenities

In a bid to enhance transparency and efficiency in public services, Punjab will strengthen its mSeva platform—a digital initiative that streamlines citizen services such as approvals, complaints, and monitoring of urban projects.

Furthermore, improved sewerage maintenance and street lighting monitoring have been emphasized to enhance sanitation and public safety across urban areas.
