Punjab News: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann of Punjab has approved the initiation of online services for the Revenue Department, aiming to improve efficiency and minimize state revenue pilferage. This decision enables the general public to access various services online, eliminating the need for physical visits to government offices.
Punjab’s Revenue Minister, Bram Shanker Jimpa, highlighted the state government’s commitment to anti-corruption policies since the inception of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s administration. In the past, public dissatisfaction with the Revenue Department’s operations was widespread. However, over the last year and a half, the department has improved its services, providing a smoother experience for citizens.
One significant change is the online availability of Fard
One significant change is the online availability of Fard, a document that people previously had to obtain by visiting government offices. Now, individuals can receive Fard at their doorstep or via email by visiting the website https://jamabandi.punjab.gov.in and clicking on “ONLINE REQUEST FOR FARD.” The government charges a fee of Rs. 20 per page for this service, with an additional Facilitation Fee of Rs. 5 per page. If the Fard needs to be delivered within the state, there is a fee of Rs. 100, and Rs. 200 for delivery outside the state. For those opting to receive a copy of Fard by email, an extra Rs. 50 fee is applicable, and all fees can be paid online. The maximum delivery time for Fard via courier service is 7 days, and for email delivery, it is 3 days.

Jimpa also mentioned that most individuals visiting the registrar or sub-registrar offices sought Fards or purchased stamp papers worth Rs. 100-200. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has approved the abolition of physical stamp papers, allowing citizens to obtain e-stamp papers of any denomination through an online portal at www.shcilestamp.com. This shift simplifies the process for the public, reduces the likelihood of stamp paper-related fraud, and eliminates the need for in-person visits to obtain stamp papers.
The introduction of online services is expected to enhance transparency, reduce corruption, and make government services more accessible to the public.
