Punjab News: In line with Punjab's stringent guidelines against drug trafficking, a significant operation was conducted in the Ferozepur district, led by Chief Minister Punjab and DGP. The Counter-Intelligence Agency (CIA) is actively working to combat drug-related offenses. Under the direction of Inspector-in-Charge Harpreet Singh and DSP Balkar Singh, a police party in Ferozepur, headed by Sub-Inspector Balraj Singh and STF ASI Satpal, successfully apprehended three alleged drug smugglers.
Details of the Operation:
The Ferozepur police, during routine patrolling near the bridge of village Bandala, encountered suspicious individuals who attempted to flee on a motorcycle. Subsequently, the police party, led by Inspector Balraj Singh, managed to apprehend Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi and Gurmeet Singh Nikka. A search led to the recovery of 150 grams of heroin from Talasi Lat.
In a parallel operation, ASI Satpal and the Ferozepur police, while conducting checks in the village, noticed another individual acting suspiciously. Upon seeing the police, the person attempted to evade but was ultimately arrested. Identified as Sukhdev Singh alias Debu from village Kamaldin Niazian, he was found in possession of 100 grams of heroin.
Legal Actions:
SP Investigation Ferozepur, Randhir Kumar, informed that cases under the NDPS Act are being registered against the arrested individuals at police stations Sadar Ferozepur and Arif Ghatebir NDP. The ongoing inquiry aims to gather more details about the alleged drug smuggling activities.
