The Bhagwant Mann-led administration has been vigorously executing its “Yudh Nashean De Virudh” (War Against Drugs) campaign since the beginning of 2024, aiming to dismantle the deep-rooted drug networks that have plagued Punjab for decades.
Officials said that the State Narcotics Control Bureau and district police teams are using advanced surveillance tools, local intelligence, and targeted search operations to uproot smuggling syndicates. The administration has also been working with central agencies to monitor drug inflow from international and inter-state routes.
The Punjab government reaffirmed its commitment to making Punjab drug-free and safe for youth, encouraging citizens to report suspicious activity through helplines and community policing initiatives.
With increasing seizures and arrests, the campaign is gaining momentum — making a powerful statement against the drug menace that has long afflicted the state.
The government is also focusing on rehabilitation programs for addicts, awareness drives in schools and colleges, and strengthening community participation to ensure a long-term and sustainable victory against drug abuse.
