Police said 23 individuals were counselled and motivated to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, highlighting that the campaign focuses not only on enforcement but also on recovery and reintegration of affected persons.
With the latest arrests, the total number of drug smugglers apprehended over 365 days has reached 51,734, reflecting the scale of the ongoing crackdown. Authorities noted that special teams, intelligence-based raids, and inter-district coordination have been key components of the drive.
Officials stated that the state government has directed law-enforcement agencies to maintain strict vigilance and continue coordinated action against drug trafficking. They added that the campaign will persist with equal intensity, combining policing, community outreach, and rehabilitation measures to address substance abuse and related crimes.
Observers say sustained anti-drug initiatives often rely on a combination of enforcement, awareness programmes, and institutional support systems, and their long-term effectiveness depends on consistent implementation and community participation.
Officials added that district police units have been instructed to intensify surveillance along inter-state borders and known trafficking routes to disrupt supply chains and prevent the movement of narcotics into the state. Special focus is also being placed on intelligence gathering, informant networks, and digital monitoring to track organised drug syndicates.
Senior officers said awareness campaigns are being conducted in schools, colleges, and villages to educate young people about the dangers of substance abuse. Community outreach teams are working with local leaders, social organisations, and health professionals to encourage early intervention and rehabilitation for those struggling with addiction.
