According to Punjab DGP, both individuals have several criminal cases registered against them and were actively involved in planning violent activities. Notably, Vishal Singh, who was recently released on bail, was allegedly plotting to assassinate a rival gang member. He is said to be in regular contact with foreign-based handlers and was awaiting instructions to carry out a sensational crime in Punjab.

Police recovered two .30 bore pistols and six live cartridges from the suspects, foiling what could have been a major gang-related attack.

The arrests are being seen as a key development in the state’s intensified crackdown on gangsters with international connections. Investigations are underway to identify additional associates and trace both backward and forward linkages in the larger gang network.

Punjab Police reaffirmed its resolve to dismantle terrorist-gangster syndicates and ensure peace and public safety across the state.

Sources within the police department revealed that Vishal Singh had been under surveillance since his release from jail, owing to intelligence inputs about his renewed criminal activities. His communication with foreign handlers, including encrypted chats and voice calls, is now being examined for leads on potential targets and planned operations.
