In a major breakthrough, Counter Intelligence Jalandhar has successfully thwarted a target killing plot in Punjab, leading to the arrest of three operatives associated with the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI)-backed terror module. The arrested individuals have been identified as Jagroop Singh alias Jagga, Sukhjit Singh alias Sukha, and Navpreet Singh alias Nav. Authorities have also recovered four sophisticated weapons along with ammunition.
Module Linked to US and Pakistan-Based Handlers
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the terror module was being directed by USA-based gangster Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi Nawashehria, a close associate of Pakistan-based terrorist Harwinder Singh Rinda. Another key handler of the module, Laadi Bakapuria, is currently operating from Greece.
FIR Registered, Probe Expands
Following the arrests, an FIR has been registered at SSOC Amritsar, and further investigations are underway. Authorities are now working to trace the module’s backward and forward linkages to dismantle the entire terror network.
Weapons and Ammunition Recovered
The police recovered a cache of sophisticated firearms, including:
One Glock 9MM pistol with one magazine and six cartridges
One PX5 Storm (Beretta) 30 bore pistol with one magazine and four bullets
One country-made 30 bore pistol with one magazine and four cartridges
One country-made 32 bore pistol with one magazine and eight cartridges
